Biography

AZEEZ Oyebisi Mistura is a Professor of Physiology in the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, Faculty of   Veterinary Medicine, University of Ilorin with more than two decades of teaching, research, student mentoring, and community service. She had her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Master’s and Ph.D (Physiology) from, the University of Lagos, and Fellow of the College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria by the College of Veterinary Surgeons Nigeria.   She taught Physiology for about ten years at the College of Health Sciences Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), where she was the pioneer acting head of the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry and served in that capacity for about seven sessions. she is currently the Dean of the faculty of veterinary medicine. Her research area is Cardiovascular/Environmental/Molecular Physiology. She has over fifty Publications to her credit published in reputable national and international journals including a Q1 journal. She has won several awards and research grants including the TETfund Institutional based Research (IBR) grant 2016/2017.  She was a member of many professional bodies like the Physiological Society Nigeria, Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association, Physiological Society London (Physoc.), Organization of Women in Science in the Developing World (OWSD). She has successfully supervised Five (5) Masters students and a PhD student to completion.
